2017 Ford Expedition

Experience Expedition capability. Enjoy it in style.

At a glance, Ford Expedition styling conveys the qualities expected in a full-size SUV. Strength. Durability. Safety. It's a design that also speaks volumes about what you'll discover inside: seating for up to eight occupants, plus loads of cargo volume in regular and extended-length models. The Ford Expedition is designed to take its place on the road in a most compelling way.

Seating Capacity

Expedition provides standard seating for up to eight. There's a 7-passenger configuration available with individual 2nd-row bucket seats. When more cargo space is needed, the 3rd-row bench seat can be folded down for a flat load floor. The 2nd-row split bench seats also fold flat to the floor for maximum cargo space.

Exterior Styling

Its dynamic front end creates a look that establishes the Expedition as the flagship of Ford SUVs. But styling isn't all there is. Expedition comes standard with LED fog lamps, running boards, and luggage rack with side rails and adjustable crossbars. Add available enhancements like halogen projector-beam headlamps; power-deployable running boards; side mirrors with heat, signal, memory and security approach features; plus power moonroof.

Ambient Lighting

Match the interior glow to how you're feeling with available Ambient Lighting. LEDs light up the front and rear footwells, front center console bin and front two cupholders in your choice of seven colors - Ice Blue®, Orange, Soft Blue, Red, Green, Blue and Purple.

Mechanical Rear Load-Leveling Suspension

The available Rear Mechanical Load-Leveling Suspension levels the chassis when you're carrying a heavy load, enhancing ride quality, handling and stability. Expedition is engineered with an independent multilink rear suspension (IRS) that enables each wheel to negotiate bumps and jolts on its own terms.

Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS)

Electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) uses an electric motor instead of a conventional hydraulic pump. It's an advanced speed-sensitive system that constantly adapts to changing driving conditions to help improve maneuverability and handling. EPAS provides an easy, fluid feel of the wheel during low-speed maneuvers, and gradually becomes firmer as speed increases. And that's not all. The system can offset pulling or drifting caused by steady crosswinds or crowned road surfaces and also damp out wheel vibrations.

Limited-Slip Rear Axle

To help improve acceleration on wet, icy, muddy or otherwise slippery road surfaces, the available 3.73 limited-slip rear differential can help reduce wheelslip.

Control Trac 4x4 System

Available Control Trac 4-Wheel-Drive is a true 4x4 system that helps provide surefooted traction in any operating condition. Four driver-activated models cover everything from 2-wheel-drive for normal dry or wet roads to 4-wheel-low when power is required for climbing steep grades, going through deep sand or pulling a boat out of water.

Integrated Trailer Brake Controller (TBC)

Integrated with the anti-lock brakes and trailer sway control, the available Integrated Trailer Brake Controller (TBC)* synchronizes vehicle and trailer brakes for seamless braking, even when towing a large boat or camper-trailer. TBC controls are easy to use and well positioned, just to the right of the steering wheel.

Forward and Reverse Sensing Systems

The available Forward and Reverse Sensing Systems use ultrasonic sensors in the bumpers to audibly alert you to certain objects when you're moving forward or backing up at a slow speed. The closer you get, the quicker it beeps

Rear View Camera

Slowly backing up a big SUV, especially in tight places or when hitching up to a trailer, is not always an easy task. But technology helps make it easier with the rear view camera that comes standard. Put the gear selector in Reverse and the rear view camera transmits the image of what's behind your vehicle when you're slowly backing up. The large, bright, real-time visual is displayed on the standard 4.2-inch center display, or on the available 8-inch touchscreen (shown) in vehicles equipped with SYNC® 3.
